Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and innovative Agro-Technology Specialist to support the development and implementation of technology-driven agricultural solutions. The ideal candidate will combine agricultural expertise with modern technology to improve farming practices, increase productivity, and promote sustainable agricultural development. This role involves working with farmers, agribusinesses, technical teams, and stakeholders to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, and implement agricultural technologies and smart farming solutions.
- Provide technical guidance on crop production, soil management, irrigation, and farm operations.
- Support the development and deployment of digital agriculture platforms, mobile applications, and farm management systems.
- Conduct field visits, demonstrations, and training sessions for farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
- Monitor agricultural projects and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented technologies.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret agricultural data to generate insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and project teams to improve agricultural technology products and services.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in agriculture and agri-tech.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project updates.
- Assist in developing strategies to improve farm productivity, sustainability, and resource efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agronomy, Agricultural Technology, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in agriculture, agri-tech, agricultural extension, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of modern farming practices, crop management, and agricultural technologies.
- Experience working with farmers, agricultural organizations, or rural development projects.
- Knowledge of precision agriculture, smart farming tools, IoT devices, GIS, or remote sensing technologies is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel for field visits and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital data management tools.
